Money Well Spent on my Skin
my skin has been GLOWING lately and here’s are my honest takes about what really works.
*fyi I have pretty DRY skin so products mentioned here are likely better for my dry skin girlies!
PAYING TO GO TO A KOREAN DERMATOLOGIST
I get it now. Since a few years ago, I started going to a dermatology clinic (with real board certified dermatology doctors, not general practitioners or aestheticians!) in Seoul every time I visited South Korea. And when I say my skin was transformed beyond what any kind of skincare routine or product could have done my whole life, I mean it.
This is where I go every year: https://www.instagram.com/reone_global/
And you can watch my review here: https://www.instagram.com/reels/DBGsiKbRRtx/
*full disclosure, they provided treatment in exchange for the ig video only, but I’m including this in my blog out of a genuine recommendation! I go back here every year and decline all other derm collab offers (I get a LOT of inquiries every year), and will pay for the treatment in a heartbeat. Also obviously you don’t have to go to Seoul to get these treatments!
One thing that a derm clinic can’t help me with year round though, are my pimples and dark spots that I get from picking on my pimples. so now onto the products that I LOVE that helps me maintain my sparkly skin (*these are all affiliate links that earns me commission! )
2. Organic jojoba oil
(tap on photo) I double cleanse every single day with organic jojoba oil
double cleansing melts gunk out of my pores, and you will be shocked when you first do this properly- because so much sebum will come out!
Now that I’ve double cleansed for 5 years I barely get any, but I find this to be the most effective in removing every bit of makeup off my face. Plus, it unclogs my pores without drying my skin.
3. Krave Beauty Matcha Cleanser
(tap on photo) this is a gentle cleanser that doesn’t leave my skin dry
4. mixik gel toner
(tap on photo) I love spraying this toner that keeps my skin immediately hydrated.
I let my face air dry after washing (while I brush and floss), and when my face is mostly dry but not completely, I spray this and pat until absorbed.
5. Paula’s Choice 2% Bha
(tap on photo) IYKYK. the holy grail exfoliant. I started at 1-2 times a week for a few weeks, and now use this 2-3 times a week. With a slow introduction, your skin will be turning over beautifully
6. L'Occitane Immortelle Overnight Reset Oil-in-Serum
(tap on photo) My quiet luxury!
few years ago I upgraded from using Kiehl’s midnight recovery serum to this one and haven’t looked back. leaves my skin so so soft in the morning
7. DR. leo spot treatment
(tap on photo) 1000/10 spot treatment! Pimples AND Dark Spots
When I say I tried all sorts of spot / dark spot treatments out there and landed here- I mean it!!
I barely break out anymore because I feel like I zap it in the early stages of my breakout, and my dark spots are effectively gone faster than any other product could do for me.
I dab a white spot on all my pimple AND dark spots before I go to sleep, and wash it away in the morning. 1000/10 product
8. La Roche Posay Moisturizer
(tap on photo) My top choice for moisturizer.
I have dry skin, so I need a rich, cream moisturizer to hydrate and lock in moisture. I honestly love any and every moisturizer by La Roche Posay, it absorbs well, rich but light, and keeps my skin very moist and soft.
