Pork and Shrimp Mandoo

Ingredients

  • Dumpling wrappers (store bought)

  • 1 serving (pinch with your thumb and index finger) Soaked vermicelli noodles

    • at least soak 2 hrs in advance, or while you prep everything else

  • 1 cup minced cabbage

  • 1 cup minced onion

  • 1/4 cup minced scallion

  • 1/2 container tofu

  • 1.5 cup minced pork (or shrimp)

  • 3-4 cloves minced garlic

  • 1 tsp minced ginger

  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 Tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil

  • 1 Tbsp Mirin (rice wine)

  • Pepper

  1. Soak the glass noodles in water (or else it will be too tough!)

  2. Cook the pork with soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, mirin, garlic, and ginger (if you want shrimp dumplings, just cook the chopped shrimp without seasoning. Season after mixing w filling)

  3. mince the cabbage, onion, scallion

  4. Wring out the water from the cabbage and tofu

  5. In a bowl, combine pork (add all the grease for flavor) and the minced veggies & tofu, and mix well.

  6. cut glass noodles into small pieces and mix in.

  7. Season to taste with salt, pepper, sesame oil

  8. Fold dumplings into the shape you like :)

  9. Steam for 15 minutes. Enjoy!

  10. To store them, place them on a pan and freeze, then put it in a zip lock bag. This way they won’t stick to each other.
